pretty much describes a blower that has been manufactured here at
Supercharger USA. Naturally, we take a great deal of pride
in our superchargers. To obtain the "Highest Quality
and Durability" - All of our New Blowers are
equipped with the best parts and craftsmanship.
Both front and
rear bearing plates have, high grade, double row bearings, (for
added stability) and special designed
rotor seals, which provides excellent sealing. Our blowers are all hand assembled for accurate internal
clearances, and we Always use helical rotors to provide
increased efficiency. Supercharger USA has the knowledge and
experience to provide you with a top quality blower that
will give you performance and dependability.
Our
wide variety of blower stages and sizes gives you the advantage to
choose a blower that will be ideal for your motor. Blowers
are made in different lengths and have different internal
characteristics between them. Below is a description of the
blowers and what their application usually falls into.

STANDARD:
These 671, 871, and 1071 blowers / superchargers are designed for
street & show, nostalgia / nostalgic look, and an occasional
trip to the track. These blowers do not have a hard
anodized interior nor to they have any teflon stripping, but will
have no problem handling 6500-7000 blower rpm and produce very
good boost levels for these applications. These
blowers are low maintenance.
HARD
ANODIZED INTERIOR:
These 671, 871, 1071 and 1471 blowers / superchargers are designed to handle higher rpm, and can take more
abuse with street & strip, bracket racing, nostalgia /
nostalgic look, marine and off road
applications. These blowers are internally coated with a hard
anodizing, which helps protect the blower against higher rpm
levels, foreign objects in the air, engine backfires, etc...
These blowers do not have teflon and do produce a little more
boost than a standard blower, but the real advantage is being able
to turn the blower faster to achieve higher boost
level. These blowers are low maintenance.
HARD
ANODIZED, 3 POINT TEFLON:
These 671, 871, 1071 and 1471 blowers / superchargers are the same as above with the exception of the
teflon. In each rotor, we add 3 teflon strips on the rotor
diameter (the rotor lips). This gives a tighter
"rotor to case bore" clearance, which provides the motor
with a little extra boost, but yet still retains a low maintenance
status.
HARD
ANODIZED, FULL TEFLON:
These 671blowers are designed for bracket racing, nostalgia /
nostalgic drag racing, drag racing, or
applications needing all the boost they can get from the
blower. Along with the 3 teflon strips in the diameter of
the rotor, there is also teflon in between the rotor pads.
This gives you a total of 9 teflon strips per rotor, and gives the
blower a lot more sealing. These blowers do produce quite a
bit more boost than the blowers above, but are also higher in
maintenance. After a while, boost levels will start to
decline. When this happens, then the blower has to have the
teflon strips replaced to bring all the tolerances back to
zero. Depending on how often and how fast you run your
blower will determine when a re stripping is needed. Some
racers will go 2 - 3 seasons and some will go every 5 events
before re stripping. If your looking for cost effective
way to gain maximum engine performance, then a full teflon blower
is the only way to go.
HARD
ANODIZED, FULL TEFLON, FRONT DISCHARGE:
To take the
blower above one step further, this blower is has a closed down
top inlet with provisions for port nozzles in rear of case.
In addition, these blowers have a different discharge on the
bottom of the blower. Due to the helix of the rotors, the
air and fuel is drawn in through the blower at the top inlet by
vacuum, the rotors capture the air and displace it into the intake
manifold in the direction of the rotors, which is forward.
So, to help smooth the air flow, there is a machined outlet in the
front bearing plate, that discharges the air straight into the
manifold in the direction the air is moving. This helps cool
the air discharge, and adds to the efficiency of the blower.
Running a front discharge blower is very beneficial, but there are
some factors to consider. First, because of the discharge being
all the way up in the front bearing plate, the blower has to be
moved back about 2-1/2". Which will require an offset
or cam driven distributor on Chevy motors. Also, on most
intake manifolds, it will require an adaptor plate in between the
intake and blower, so the blower can be moved back and still have
sealing area. Front discharge blowers are becoming standard
blowers in serious drag racing applications.
FULL
TEFLON, FRONT DISCHARGE, BILLET ROTOR:
These are
the best of all 671, 871, 1071, 1271, 1471 and 1671 blowers /
superchargers. These blowers are exactly the same
blower as above, except a billet rotor is utilized instead of a
cast rotor. A billet rotor is far superior over a
cast. The rotor ball sockets are tighter, the profile allows
for much more sealing time in between the rotors, and of course
they are more stable and durable. Also, with billet rotors
the teflon usually does not have to be re stripped as often as the
cast rotors. Naturally, these are the best blowers and are
designed for all out performance, but they are also a bit more
expensive over the cast rotor. If your looking for the best
of everything on your motor and need every ounce of advantage over
your competition, this is the blower to choose.
